This is something a little different. A member of the community who wants to remain anonymous has donated a vintage #7 Stanley / Bailey Jointer Plane for the auctions. The plane is in excellent condition, it is very old (he thinks it is around 1910, but isn't sure, and I don't know enough about old tools to say one way or the other). The Jappaning is in pretty good shape and the bottoms have no pits or rust.
The blade is in good shape and it is a Stanley blade from Austrailia (the plane is from England). The handles have been replaced somewhere along the way with plastic versions. (Personally I would buy a wood set from Ebay, but these are in perfectly good condition. No problems at all).
The plane could use a good tuning and set up. There is a very slight hollow across the sole but nothing that can't be easily cleaned up with a good tuning.
I have a very similar version of this for jointing plates and I spent about an afternoon thoroughly tuning it and getting it in tip top shape. Now it is a dream. In a couple of passes I have a perfect joint.

Vintage tools are very very nice. A brand new Lie Nielsen jointer plane is north of $400, so by that comparison this is sure to be a bargain.
